Nairobi hosted the Hockey World League Round 1 for Men and Women in 2014.

Egypt won the men's tournament and qualified for the Round 2 in Cape Town, in which they finished third.

Kenya won the Women's tournament qnad qualified for the Round 2 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
